They left fans heartbroken after announcing a hiatus but former One Direction member, Niall Horan insists that he and Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson have plans of reuniting someday.

The 23-year-old singer made the explosive claim during an interview with the Sunday People, the 'This Town' singer insisted that he and his former bandmates are definitely reuniting soon and that rumours of bad blood between former group are "absolutely ridiculous".

Horan also attended the 2016 American Music Awards last week and came face to face with former bandmate, Zayn Malik, who left the group early last year after rumours of drug use and his scandalous breakup with Perrie Edwards of Little Mix.

During the red carpet, Niall was asked about One Direction's hiatus and he answered by simply saying, "At the moment we are all doing our own thing. Harry wanted to do his movie and everyone else is chilling. I honestly don't think anyone needs to worry about us, we are all fine and enjoying the break."

There is no doubt that the boys are enjoying their time, Harry spent most of this year filming a movie with director Christopher Nolan, Niall released a song that went straight to number one on the billboard hot 100 charts, Louis is busy being a father to his almost one year old son with ex-girlfriend Brianna Jungwirth and Liam is rumored to be expecting a child with his girlfriend, Cheryl Cole.

But, don't expect Zayn Malik to be part of the reunion, he recently threw shade at his former bandmates after winning the New Artist of The Year Award at the 2016 American Music Awards, upon accepting the award, he made a snide comment saying "Wait, this only has my name on it right?"
