A new leak has revealed that the upcoming seventh-generation Intel i3 Kaby Lake processors will be unlocked and overclock-ready, a first for the company's i3 range of processors. The leak is the latest among a trove of information regarding the new Kaby Lake processors. Previous leaks revealed the price of the chip and provided some insight into its performance.

The leaked Geekbench score for the Intel Core i3 7350K shows that the chip outperforms previous generation Intel Core i5 processors in both single- and multi-core tests. According to Hot Hardware, the leak shows that the Kaby Lake i3 processor scores 5137 in a single-core test and 10048 in a multi-core test. Some analysts believe that this figure can be stretched even further with the chip's overclock capability.

If these leaked scores are accurate, the new Kaby Lake i3 chips essentially double the performance of the previous generation i5 processors.

The Intel Core i3 7350K is rumored to cost $177. A low-end seventh generation Intel Core i5 processor will cost about $195. On the top of the scale is the Intel Core i7 7700K with four cores, eight threads, a base clock of 4.2GHz and boost clock of 4.5GHz. The Core i7 7700k will cost around $349.

The Intel Core i3 7350K has a base clock of 4.2GHz right out of the box, according to Digital Trends. The chip has two cores and four threads. Although the chip is not as robust as the top end of the Kaby Lake series, it is an affordable option for budget gamers looking to have a high-performance machine without shelling out too much cash.
