WTA International: Women’s Tennis Continues in Asia

A series of WTA International tournaments have begun in Asia namely the Kia Korea Open, Guangzhou International Women's Open and the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Japan.
Rogers Cup champion Agnieszka Radwanska is the defending champion at the Kia Korea Open.
The 25-year-old Polish defeated Polona Hercog of Slovenia 6-3 6-3 and will meet Chanelle Scheepers of South Africa in the second round.

Top seeded Radwanska's will most likely get challenge from fifth seeded Varvara Lepchenko who defeated Olivia Rogowska 6-1 6-2 in the first round.
If she reaches the finals, she might be confronted with either Karolina Pliskova or Klara Koukalova that are both from Czech Republic.
Guangzhou International Open defending champion Shuai Zhang withdrew from the tournament leaving top seeds Samantha Stosur of Australia and Frenchwoman Alize Cornet vying for the title.
Wild card entry Zhu Lin of China upset sixth seeded Roberta Vinci early in the first round of the event 6-3 7(9)-6(7).
Wimbledon quarter-finalist Angelique Kerber and U.S. Open finalist Caroline Wozniacki is in Tokyo and will play at the Toray Pan Pacific Open.
The 26-year-old German will face Elina Svitlona of Ukraine in the second round who won over Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova in straight sets 6-4 6-1 on Monday.
The Danish star will go up against Australian Jarmila Gajosova also in the second round after defeating Daniela Hantuchova 6-2.
Seventh seed Lucie Safarova also saw action and won a difficult three setter against American teenager Madison Keys 6(4)-7(7) 6-4 6-2.
Safarova will meet 17-year-old wild card entry Belinda Bencic who had a monumental U.S. Open performance defeating higher ranking players like Kerber and Jelena Jankovic.
Bencic went to the second round after demolishing Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova in two sets 6-3 6-0.
Also through to the next round are sixth seed Dominika Cibulkova who defeated Kirsten Flipkens 6-1 6-3 and Garbine Muguruza who won over Anastasia Pavlyuchenka 6-3 7(7)-6(3).
