Chinese investment consortium SinoFortone has bought The Plough at Cadsden. The pub, located in Buckinghamshire, hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping and former UK Prime Minister David Cameron in October 2015. The financial terms of the deal were not announced.
After the visit of two leaders, the pub's landlord Steve Hollings claimed that the pub had become "the most famous pub in the world." The site is now developing into a major tourist attraction, especially for Chinese visitors to the country.

The pub is located close to the British prime minister's official countryside residence at Chequers. Its history goes back to the 16th century when the place was used as a staging post for London coaches.
The sale was made through property company Christie and Co.
"The English pub concept is growing very fast in China and it's the best way culturally to link people from different countries and build friendships," Peter Zhang, managing director of SinoFortone Investment, said. The firm added that pubs are the best way to form friendships between people from different cultures.
SinoFortone deals in diverse industries including energy, infrastructure, food, and education. The firm also has a stake in the new London Paramount theme park as well as in the proposed Crossrail 2 train line. Paramount is planned to be built on the Swanscombe Peninsula in North Kent. This deal was announced during President Xi's visit to the UK.
In 2015, Sinofortone had signed investment deals worth nearly £5.2 billion in Britain. SinoFortone is also involved in new metro systems being developed in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi.
