Porzingis Finally Finds Rhythm, Leads Knick in Win over Lakers

Banking on strong performances from Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick Rose, the New York Knicks snatched a win against the Los Angeles Lakers in a tightly contested game on Sunday night, 118-112.

Porzingis had an impressive game-high performance closing the game 26 points, 12 rebounds, and seven blocks. Porzingis has had a rough shooting performance lately, but the 21-year-old Latvian was finally in his best form in the game against the Lakers. In his last five games, Porzingis only averaged 30 percent on the field due to a lingering knee injury.

In a statement acquired by the New York Daily News, Porzingis said, "I've been confident the whole time. Maybe it was just more getting shots in rhythm, good shots, and not being too anxious."

Also finding his rhythm was Derrick Rose who had 25 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a block. Courtney Lee added 16 points, while Carmelo Anthony finished with 13 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and three steals. Brandon Jennings who came off the bench had 19 points, three rebounds, and four assists.

Leading the Lakers' offense was sixth-man Lou Williams who had 24 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals, according to NBA.com. Starting forward Luol Deng had 22 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Julius Randle had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, as well as four assists. Nick Young scored 15 points and grabbed four rebounds. Jordan Clarkson had 14 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

With the win, the Knicks improved to 13-10, while the Lakers have a 10-15 record dropping its last six games.

The Lakers will be visiting the Sacramento Kings tomorrow, while the Knicks will visit the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.
