South Korean television drama series Legend of the Blue Sea took its viewer in a roller coaster events in episode 8 that left many questions and triggered excitement among fans.

In the coming episode 9, the television series will be halfway through so fans can expect a major twist in the story line.

Reports reveal that the story will likely feature troubled moments for the couples in the modern days Shim Chung (Jun Ji Hyun) and Heo Joon-jae (Lee Min Ho) as well as in the ancient times Se-hwa and Kim Dam-ryeong.

Hanging Questions from Episode 8

In the show's last episode, viewers have met another merman living in the earth like Shim Chung and he became a good friend with her. In fact, he taught her many things including how to produce precious pearls from the sweat in their eyes and the secret to expand the time period for their heart to live on earth.

The senior conman stole a pearl from the female lead's black plastic bag and sarcastically told her that he is a mysterious person. Will he discover her mermaid secrets in episode 9?

Meanwhile, the sequel also focused on the junior university researcher's quest for Heo Joon-jae's mother and hitman Ma Dae-young's failed murder attempts against the Heo Joon-jae. Will they succeed in their mission now?

Towards the end of episode 8, it seems that what had happened in the past is repeating itself in the present and viewers saw Se-hwa and Kim Dam-ryeong sharing a kiss. Would this mean that the mermaid will once again erase his memory even if he asked not to? And would this also mean that Shim Chung and Joon-Jae will part ways in the upcoming episode?

One of the striking scenarios in episode 8 was the two mermaids' decision to go back to the ocean after realizing that they can never get their happy ending and their human lovers attempt to stop them.

However, Heo Joon-ja admitted his feeling to the silver-tailed mermaid and asked her to stay with him.
