(Photo : Facebook) Apple's iPhone 8 is a standalone flagship model, while the two other models — iPhone 7s and the 7s Plus — will be branded as the official iPhone 7 successors in 2017.
Apple will mark iPhone's 10th year anniversary with its standalone iPhone 8 flagship model to be released in 2017.
The company has plans to make two versions of its iPhone 8, namely, liquid crystal display (LCD) and organic light-emitting diode (OLED). LCD display will be made up of glass in flat panels, while the OLED models will have curved screens made of plastic.

These two panels have lots of differences but one of the most fundamental is that each pixel provides its own illumination in an OLED screen, while all of the pixels in an LCD screen are illuminated by an LED backlight.
According to Korean Herald's latest report , Apple will be importing the plastic-based curved OLED screens to its arch rival Samsung Display. Samsung is capable of supplying an estimated 70 to 100 million units of OLED for Apple, which is less than half of Apple's annual sales of the iPhone series. This indicates that close to 100 million units of the iPhone 8 may sport LCD flat panels that will be supplied by LG displays and JDI.
Although Samsung was the first to adopt curved panels among smartphones, iPhone8 OLED display will reportedly be more advanced than the Galaxy S7 edge.
Apple iPhone 8's screen will be "edgeless," meaning the display will stretch to all four directions compared with Samsung device's curved screen that extends to the right and the left side of the phone only.
The iPhone 8 is expected to sell at a cost of around $150 to $200, which is more than the generic iPhone 7s series.
According to International Business Times, it is believed that iPhone 8 is a standalone flagship model, while the two other models - iPhone 7s and the 7s Plus - will be branded as the official iPhone 7 successors in 2017.
