Spurs’ Late Rally Snaps Rockets’ Winning Streak

(Photo : Getty Images) The San Antonio Spurs started its offensive trashing of the Raptors early, finishing the first half with a 19-point lead on Tuesday night.
With less than four minutes and 30 seconds left on the clock, the San Antonio Spurs is trailing the Houston Rockets with 13 points. Despite this almost insurmountable hurdle, the Spurs kept on attacking and their resilience eventually paid off with a win, 102-100.
Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said during the postgame interview, "That was the best part of the whole game. They showed some toughness mentally as much as physically."

The Rockets' offense was in total disarray, especially the team's three-point shooting percentage. According to ESPN, following the team's record-setting three-point performance against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Rockets fell to just 15 percent on the three-point territory against the Spurs on Tuesday. With its latest win, the Spurs snap the Rockets' 10-game winning streak.
The Spurs was able to score 20 points in the last five minutes of the game, including the game winning three-point shot from Patty Mills. The Spurs managed to sink eight out of its 10 three-point shots, an offensive explosion that completed the team's 20-11 run.
Leading the Spurs was Kawhi Leonard with 21 points, four assists, and five steals, according to NBA.com. LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol each had a double-double. Aldridge with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Gasol had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Leading the Rockets offense was James Harden with 31 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. Trevor Ariza added 16 points, six rebounds, two assists, four steals, and a block. Off the bench, Eric Gordon had 13 points, four rebounds, and two blocks, while Sam Dekker had 10 points and seven rebounds.
The Spurs will be visiting the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday, while the Rockets will fly to Phoenix on Wednesday night.
