Minivan Ploughs into Chinese Farmer Market, Kills 4 People

(Photo : Getty Images) At least four people died and several others injured after a minivan ploughed into a Chinese farmer market in Changping District on Wednesday.
Four people have been confirmed dead and dozens injured after a minivan plunged its way into an agricultural market in Changping District, Beijing, on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. (07:00H GMT), local police offials revealed.
The Municipal Public Security Bureau of Beijing said that the injured victims have been immediately brought to a nearby health facility for treatment. And the driver, the van, and other relevant personnel were taken into police custody for investigation, according to Reuters.

No further details were given about the incident. However, authorities are determining if the incident was intentional or accidental.
Meanwhile, the incident comes days after a terror group jihad alleged to have killed 12 people after it drove a truck into the crowd at a Christmas market in Germany on Monday.
China has in the past noted that the state has been under the threat of Islamist groups that operate in Xinjiang. The Islamist group has been blamed for a series of attacks in Xinjiang as well as other parts of the country.
