Chinese smartphone maker Huawei officially launched its latest color variant device - the Obsidian Black Huawei Nova smartphone - in China. There is no word on the pricing yet, but it is expected to be the same as its other versions.

The technical specification of the Obsidian Black Huawei Nova smartphone is just similar to the initial model. To recall, the smartphone features a 5-inch full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) IPS LCD display screen with 441 ppi pixel density. Under the hood, the handheld device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at a speed of 2Ghz. It comes equipped with Adreno 506 GPU and a massive 3GB of RAM onboard.

The Huawei Nova smartphone comes with 32GB of internal memory storage, which can be further expandable up to 256GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. The handset runs on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) operating system out of the box, along with Huawei's latest Emotion 4.1 user interface laid on top of it.

On the photography side, the Huawei Nova sports 12-megapixel rear camera with phase detection and LED flash support. On the front is an 8-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling purposes. The handset is fueled by a non-removable Li-po 3,020mAh capacity battery.

Other features the Huawei Nova offers include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS with A-GPS, and USB Type-C 1.0. The smartphone measures a body dimension of 141.2 x 69.1 x 7.1 mm and weighs around 146 grams.

Meanwhile, no words yet whether this smartphone will be available outside China.
