An expert on the Middle East studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences named Ye Hailin said that an attack as such would be irrational and not in line with the US interest in the area.

Ye added that it would be the most directionless strategy of the US since Britain and France drew back after World War II.
The Obama administration just based their planning on the conclusion that chemical weapons where used by Syria, even though it didn't send investigators there. And also, US mostly based its decision on footages and not on physical evidences.
In the meantime, UN investigators are still in the process of analyzing samples collected at the scene and haven't concluded yet.
If the allegation is true, a limited strike from the US will not cease the chemical weapons used in Syria, Ye added. It is also pointless in terms of putting an end to the rule of the Syrian government.
Ye said that President Obama is doubtful get a green signal from UN and other countries. In fact, Obama doesn't want to initiate the strike but the hawkish bearing of interest groups in Washington, State Secretary John Kerry and some senior US diplomats have given much pressure on him.
Yin Gang, Ye's colleague, said that Obama isn't in quest of a green signal from the congress. Thus, he will just initiate the attack once the congress approves and that the US congress cannot put perimeters to the right of the President in launching such an attack.
Yin added that further conflicts with a number of Islamic groups and heated tensions in the Middle East would only arise if the war will take place.
