Defending NBA champions Cleveland Cavaliers are set to acquire shooting guard Kyle Korver from the Atlanta Hawks as the two clubs reportedly finalizing a deal.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore reported that the Cavs and Haws are completing a trade that would send Korver, one of the best shooters in the league right now, to Cleveland in exchange for a still unknown package.

Korver, 35, is a one-time NBA All-Star and was also an NBA Sportsmanship Award recipient in 2015. He has played for four teams in his so far 13-year career, suiting up for the Philadelphia 76ers, Utah Jazz, and Chicago Bulls before joining the Hawks in the summer of 2012. Cleveland will be his fifth team in the NBA.

Vivlamore said that upon Korver's arrival at the Smoothie King Center for their game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday night, Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer had set him aside in a separate room. He "was in uniform and on the Hawks bench" during the game but did not start.

"The NBA is a great job," said Korver earlier this week, addressing the trade rumors linking him to the Cavs. "It's a great job. I wouldn't have any other job. But living stability is not one of the strengths of this job. You don't know where you are going to be tomorrow. We don't get to plan things out. That's just part of this great job that we get to do."

"Last year there was all this talk and nothing happened. Who knows? We don't know what's going on behind closed doors. The Hawks are going to do what is best for them," he added, interestingly referring to his team as "them".

Korver has played in 32 games for Coach Budenholzer this season, starting in 21 of them. He was recently demoted to the bench by Thabo Sefolosha, who is also in the rumor mill. Korver has averaged 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 28 minutes per game so far, shooting 44.1 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from beyond the arc.

CBS Sports noted that the Cavs are set to add one of the best shooters in the NBA during midseason for the second straight year. Last season, the team signed Channing Frye from the Orlando Magic at the February trade deadline.
