Records revealed recently that over past years neighbors of the house in Blackstone, Massachusetts where the remains of three infants were found had filed reports but that authorities had no reason to enter the home.
On Tuesday, police set the record straight about what has become known as the 'Blackstone house of squalor,' stating that although they had been contacted about the abode on numerous occasions, they saw no reason to actually enter the home.

The 31-year-old resident Erika Murray, who has been identified to be the mother of the four children rescued from the vermin-infested home, is now being detained without bail for charges of fetal death concealment and permitting substantial injury to a child.
The children, aged 6 months to 13 years old, were placed under the care of state social services on August 28 following a report from one of her neighbors about the horrid conditions the children were living in.
Murray was arrested a week ago after authorities discovered the remains of three infants together with dead animals, feces, and garbage in her home.
Now, Blackstone police logs revealed various reports involving the home since 2008 when Murray allegedly began living in the house with her boyfriend, Ramon Rivera.
An August 2011 log indicated that a neighbor had called authorities about a dog tied up on a leash in the backyard. The report led to a 'satisfactory' probe, leaving police no legal reason to enter the home.
In 2012, authorities served a document to Murray involving an unlicensed dog. A few months after, police were again called to the house to investigate a report about a dog left on a 'cold porch.'
The state medical examiner is currently examining the remains of the three infants found at the Blackstone home as Murray's court-appointed lawyer entered a not-guilty plea on grounds of his client being mentally ill.
Meanwhile, Murray's boyfriend and alleged father of the children has not been charged in connection to the discovery of the babies' remains.
