The 30-second snippet, which was released during the 74th Golden Globe Awards, showed off the 26-year-old's singing talents as Belle. She bursted into the song with a shot of her standing on the mountain tops of her small French town, wearing a traditional dress and apron. The introductory song explained the heroine's ambitions to break free from her life in the village.
A lot of footage have already been seen in previous teasers for the Disney's remake of the animated classic. Along with the shot of her amid rolling hills, it also showed moments when Belle enters the Beast's castle and the iconic dance scene, which according to Emma Watson is "to encapsulate that blossoming romance" of the characters.
With about two months shy from the release date, some fans got the chance to hear the former Harry Potter actress' singing voice on New Year's Eve. A Hasbro Belle doll in Toys R' Us featured a leak of her singing "Something There," including the line: "True that he's no Prince Charming, but there's something in him that I simply didn't see."
The recording is one of Watson's big numbers in the film and a longer clip was later posted on Twitter and Facebook. Producer Jack Morrisey also confirmed the genuineness of the release as he shared the clip on his own Instagram account.
Considering that this is her first major musical film, Watson took singing lessons prior to starring in the fairytale movie with co-star Dan Stevens, who plays the Beast. The Bill Condon film also stars Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as Lefou, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, and Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts to name a few. "Beauty and the Beast" is set for global release in mid-March 2017.
