Hollywood A-list actor Matt Damon is said to be collaborating with director Paul Greengrass and Universal Pictures for his return to the Jason Bourne franchise.
According to insider reports, Universal Pictures is in the early stage of preparing for Damon and Greengrass' comeback in an untitled Jason Bourne production. It is said to be the revival of one of the biggest action franchises in Hollywood.

Previous reports earlier said the director and the actor had both decided not to participate in another film based on the CIA novel written by Robert Ludlum, after working together in the Jason Bourne movies "The Bourne Supremacy" and "The Bourne Ultimatum".
However, their previous decision seemed to have changed as Damon and Greengrass are reportedly in talks of returning to play their respective roles in the movie franchise.
Additionally, Universal Pictures is said to be preparing a sequel to "The Bourne Legacy" with Jeremy Renner returning to portray the role of Aaron Cross and Justin Lin as its director, which is said to be scheduled for release on July 16, 2016.
With the impending production of another Jason Bourne film, it remains uncertain if the sequel to the new Bourne film will push through, or if Damon's new production will take place.
Movie observers say further discussions would be made in order to decide Universal Pictures' course of action regarding the two upcoming films.
Universal Pictures hasn't released an official statement on the matter.
The three Jason Bourne movies, which featured Damon as its lead, reaped almost US$1 billion worldwide since the first film was released in 2002.
On a side note, Damon will start filming "The Martian" for Fox while Greengrass's last directorial project was "Captain Phillips".
