NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder Beats Sacramento Kings; Russell Westbrook Registers 20th Triple-Double of the Season

Five-time NBA All-Star guard Russell Westbrook posted his 20th triple-double of the season in ushering the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 122-118 win over the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, on Sunday night.

According to a published report of the ESPN, the NBA's current leading scorer poured in game-high 36 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. Westbrook made 25 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out four assists in the second half, and dropped 13 points in the final 12 minutes of the game to help thwart a late Sacramento charge.

"Russell's second half was phenomenal. He was really efficient scoring and passing," Thunder head Coach Billy Donovan said after the match.

Westbrook also had four steals during the game and was able to connect four of his five attempts from beyond the arc region while going 10-for-11 from the foul line.  He got his much needed support from big man Enes Kanter who finished the game in a double-double game performance of 29 points and 12 rebounds.

Starting shooting guard Victor Oladipo contributed with 23 points and reserve Alex Abrines chipped in with 13 points while coming off the bench.

With victory, Oklahoma City improves to a better 25-17 and currently sits at the sixth spot of the highly competitive Western Conference team standings. According to the official website of the NBA, the win also marked the Thunder's 10th triumph in 21 games played on road this season and their fifth in 10 matches.

On the other hand, DeMarcus Cousins had 31 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists for the Kings, dropped to a 16-24 win-loss card and have lost two straight. Rudy Gay also had a double-double game production of 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Darren Collison added with 21 points.

The Los Angeles Clippers will the Thunder's next game assignment on Monday at the Staples Center. The hot Doc Rivers-headed team is on a six-game winning streak.
