Recent transfer rumors have emerged that Barcelona defender Gerard Pique is planning a move back to England as he has had enough of the feeling of disrespect from Spanish fans in La Liga.
Pique, 29, has been with Barça since the summer of 2008 when the La Liga giants bought him from English Premier League powerhouse Manchester United for only $6 million. He spent his youth career with Barcelona but moved to United to begin his senior career. After four seasons with the Red Devils, he chose to come back to Barça and has been there ever since.

In eight-and-a-half seasons with the Catalonia club, the Spain international has appeared in a total of 376 games, scoring 35 times mainly as a central defender. He has also won 26 major trophies for Barcelona and the Spanish national team in the said time period, as per the Daily Express.
Lately, the 6-foot-5 Barcelona native has been drawing a lot of flak from Spanish fans for some of his off-pitch comments that were "vocally supportive" of the Blaugrana. While Barça fans are in full support of Pique, the supporters of the other La Liga squads, particularly Real Madrid's, are said to be "known to jeer" the center-back that even his wife, Shakira, is already affected.
Because of the issue, Pique recently told reporters that he wants to retire from playing for the Spain national squad in 2018 as he is "growing tired" of how the country's fans are treating him in general.
Shakira also reportedly wants to move to London as issues about her husband are also affecting her singing career.
SB Nation reported that London clubs Chelsea and Arsenal are waiting and ready for Pique to make up his mind if he really does want a move back to England in the ongoing winter transfer window.
However, other reports have mentioned that a move is unlikely until this summer as Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is said to be keen on keeping his current squad together for the rest of the season.
