A mysterious smartphone named Xiaomi Mi Mix Evo was recently spotted on the benchmark website GeekBench. What is even more interesting is that the smartphone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, a fact that spurred speculations that the device will be a premium one.

Based on the benchmark listing, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Evo managed to score 1918 points in a single-core test, and 5689 points for multi-core test, according to Giz China. That is an impressive performance for a chipset with an eight-core processor clocked at 1.90GHz.

The GeekBench list also reveals that the Mi Mix Evo runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and packs 4GB of RAM. The phone's motherboard is listed as MSM8998.

Despite the fact that Xiaomi has yet to confirm the existence of the Mi Mix Evo, it did not deter the tech community to share some speculations about the device. As the name implies, some suggested that it might be an upgraded version of the already existing Mi Mix phone which was released last year.

Some suggested that the Mi Mix Evo will have the same design and specs as the original Mi Mix, only with some upgrades in terms of chipset, memory, storage, and maybe camera configuration.

As a point of reference, the original Mi Mix has an impressive 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio with a near bezel-less display, according to NDTV. The phone packs a Snapdragon 821 chipset, with memory choices of 4GB or 6GB. The phone also packs a 16-megapixel rear facing camera, and a 5-megapixel front facing camera.

Some believe that now that the Mi Mix Evo have surfaced on benchmark website, it will not take long until Xiaomi takes the wraps off of this upcoming device.
