Online retailing website GearBest has announced that the MGCOOL Explorer 4K action camera is now available for pre-order for $49.99 (approximately 343.76 Yuan / Rs. 3,404.82).
MGCOOL Digital Technology Co., Ltd. is a Chinese-based electronic company located in Shenzhen, Guangdong. MGCOOL is Elephone's newly-established sub-brand covering intelligent wearable and mobile electronics.

The MGCOOL Explorer 4K features an ultra compact design. It sports an Allwinner V3 processor, a microSD memory card (that supports up to 64GB of memory storage), and built-in Wi-Fi technology. The action camera is a 1,050 mAh Li-ion capacity battery. The company claims that the device can last up to 80 minutes of continuous usage. The camera can be charged while in use.
The MGCOOL Explorer 4K action camera sports a 16-megapixel Sony CMOS sensor. The camera is capable of recording Full motion H.264 4K video at 15 frames per second, 2K video at 30 frames per second, 1080p video at 60 frames per second, and lower 720p at 120 frames per second.
The MGCOOL Explorer 4K action camera can be controlled or manipulated remotely using a smartphone via a built-in WiFi (10 meters). The action camera is also capable of underwater photography via a dedicated waterproof case. The camera can function in either fresh or seawater at a depth of up to 30 meters.
