A new mid-ranged smartphone from Chinese manufacturer Oppo has been spotted on benchmarking site GFXBench. Dubbed simply as the Oppo R66, the phone packs a decent set of hardware specs that easily falls into the mid-range market.
Based on the GFXBench listing, the Oppo R66 packs a 5.5-inch display with 1280 x 720 resolution. It has a MediaTek MT6750 chipset with an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It also has a Mali T860 MP2 graphics processing unit.

The Oppo R66 has 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space. The storage space can be expanded through the SD card slot.
Rather disappointingly, the phone runs on an older Android 5.1 Lollipop mobile operating system, according to Giz China. This is a major factor that could affect the popularity of the device. Another missing feature is support for fingerprint sensor.
The Oppo R66 packs a 12-megapixel rear facing main camera. It supports autofocus, touch focus, a LED flash, face detection and HRD photo. On the front side is a 15-megapixel sensor for selfie shots and video conferencing.
The Oppo R66 packs a rather conventional set of sensors. It has an accelerometer, Bluetooth, camera, GPS, light sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, pedometer, and Wi-Fi.
With these set of specs, it is easy to call the Oppo R66 as a mid-ranged device. Oppo is yet to confirm the official release date and the price of the device. However, there are speculations that the phone would cost about $100.
