Taiwanese singer and TV personality Harlem Yu has been rushed to the hospital last Monday, September 15, after he complained of discomfort on his chest area which sparked rumors that he is seriously ill.

According to reports, the 53-year old singer is said to have felt that something was wrong with his heart for half a year now, but since there wasn't anyone in the family suffering from any pre-existing condition related to it and the symptoms were mild, Yu did not put too much thought about it.

Yu is said to have only taken his condition seriously when he felt chest pains and irregular pulse rates.

No official statement has been released regarding the singer's condition. His representatives had been quiet about the issue while security personnel stood guard outside his hospital room.

On the other hand, it has also been rumored that the singer, who will be holding his concert soon, is seriously ill after veteran TV presenter Zhang Xiao Yan visited the singer at the hospital.

However, these rumors had been refuted by Yu's manager, who said that the singer is just undergoing a normal medical check-up, reassuring the public and the singer's supporters that he is well. Additionally, Yu's manager also said that if the results come out right, the singer may be discharged from the hospital after two days.

Yu's manager added that scans will be performed on the singer in order for the doctors to find out what was causing the chest pain and irregular pulse rates that Yu is suffering from.

Zhang's manager also refuted such claims, saying that the TV presenter has always treated Yu like a younger brother, which is why she was concerned and in turn, visited the singer.

The singer is yet to release a statement about his real health condition.
