Chinese Boy Whose Eyes were Gouged Out, to Get Artificial Eyes

In a ray a hope for 6-year-old Chinese boy whose eyes were gouged out by unidentified woman in Fenxi County of China's Shanxi province on August 24 as he may get to see the world again with help of electronic ocular prosthesis implant or artificial eyes in three months.

The doctors at the Shanxi Eye Hospital on Tuesday said that Guo Bin may regain his eyesight with electronic ocular prosthesis and they had arranged best doctors for his medical care who will implant artificial eyes in three months.
Earlier, the doctors had said that the boy might not regain his eyesight again and he may have to live his life as blind.
After the incident was reported in media, donations have been flowing in to help the minor boy meet his medical expenses and the amount has reached 800,000 Yuan (130,500 US dollars). Even a doctor, Denis Lam has offered to perform the electronic ocular prosthesis implant on boy free of cost.
His father Guo Zhiping said that the 6-year-old doesn't know about the loss of eyesight and the boy has started rehabilitation therapy from Sunday while health authorities have contacted psychological experts to provide counseling to boy and his family.
Meanwhile, Police authorities are still trying to nab the accused woman who had lured the boy secluded fields and had gouged out his eyes.
In another development in the case, Guo Bin's aunt allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well on August 31 and the incident had triggered suspicion among public that she might be the assailant who gouged out the child's eyes. However, his father and other relatives have ruled the possibility and claimed that both families have good terms.
On the other hand, police authorities have said that they haven't found any clue regarding the accused woman so far and they are further probing the case.
