Xiaomi has officially entered the Pakistan market, partnering with Smart Link Technologies. Pakistan is the latest overseas market of Xiaomi as it resumes in global expansion after its top officials left the company recently.
The Chinese smartphone maker is aggressively expanding beyond its home boundaries and hopes to repeat its success in foreign markets as well. Aside from Smart Link Technologies, Rocket Internet's Daraz will also distribute Xiaomi products in the country.

“We at Daraz, in partnership with Smart Link, are proud to serve as exclusive online partner for this exciting launch that will bring together Pakistan’s largest online store and Asia’s most innovative smartphone brand in what promises to be a complementary relationship,” said Daraz CEO Bjarke Mikkelsen commented about the latest venture.
In addition, the Beijing-base smartphone manufacturer also partnered with Daraz, which will also distribute the company’s products. Daraz is owned by e-commerce Rocket Internet which also operates in Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka.
The company will commence its operation in Pakistan with the launching of budget-friendly smartphones Redmi Note 4 and the Redmi Note 4A, and Mi Max. There will be available accessories too. All the devices will be officially available for purchase in Pakistan and will be sold on Daraz.pk.
According to International Data Corporation (IDC), Pakistan has 13 million smartphone shipped in the country in 2016. It is not yet a lucrative market but companies like Huawei and Oppo have already established themselves in the country. Moreover, Pakistan is adding up one million 3G and 4G connections monthly and with this, the mobile penetration is only set to increase.
