Kenya national team winger Ayub Masika has completed his transfer to China League One club Beijing Renhe FC from Belgian First Division B squad Lierse SK on Tuesday.

Masika is the newest African footballer to join the Chinese football revolution as he agreed to a deal with Renhe, joining head coach Wang Baoshan's side and competing in the country's second-division league, as per Newsweek.

The 24-year-old winger's switch came only days after 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Player of the Tournament Christian Bassogog joined Chinese Super League squad Henan Jianye FC. Bassogog came from Danish Superliga team AaB Fodbold.

"Lierse and Chinese second division Beijing Renhe Football Club came this afternoon (Monday) to an agreement regarding the transfer of Ayub Masika," said a statement from Beijing Renhe's official website.

The statement further read that De Pallieters "is aware that the timing for an outgoing transfer is not ideal". However, Renhe's offer "was of serious value" and so the Danish club accepted the deal to ensure "financial stability". The report did not mention the exact cost of the transfer, though.

"Lierse would finally like to stress that this transfer nothing detract from the sporting ambitions of the club, where the focus is still on the race next Sunday and reaching the finals for possible promotion to 1A," the statement ended.

Goal indicated that Masika's transfer followed the move of his Kenya teammate, Michael Olunga, to newly-promoted CSL side Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng FC last month from Allsvenskan club Djurgårdens IF Fotboll of Sweden.

Masika began his senior career with Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk in 2011. He played there for four seasons, appearing in a total of 42 games in all competitions, until 2015 when he was loaned out to Lierse for two seasons. He then signed to a three-year permanent deal with Lierse last summer before deciding to move to the Far East this month.
