Two Chinese Super League clubs are ready to offer former Real Madrid manager and now Newcastle United coach Rafa Benitez a deal that will make him the highest-paid football manager in the world.

Benitez, 56, was hired as the new manager of Newcastle United in March last year as the Magpies were at risk of being relegated from the Premier League to the Championship. The team ended up doing being relegated and are currently in the second spot of the EFL Championship table with 12 rounds to go until the end of the campaign.

The Spaniard was a former coach of big-name European clubs Real Madrid, Chelsea, Liverpool, Inter Milan, and Napoli.

Two unnamed CSL clubs are said to be willing to offer Benitez a weekly wage of £600,000 ($745,700), which is almost equivalent to what Carlos Tevez is earning at Shanghai Shenhua as the current highest-paid footballer, according to The Sun.

Benitez has reportedly been "left frustrated" by the Magpies' senior officials, who have failed to support him in his plans during the winter transfer window. With no significant signings for the Toon in the recent window, their objective to qualify for the Premier League next season could be in jeopardy.

The top two Championship clubs will automatically get promoted to the English top-flight next season while a third qualifier will be decided by a playoff by the no. 3 to no. 6 teams.

With Benitez's speculated falling out with Newcastle, at least two China top-flight clubs were said to have been "alerted" by the rumors, according to the Mirror. Benitez "has not given any assurances" that he will return as the Magpies' boss next season even though he had just signed a three-year deal with the club last summer.

Benitez has coached Newcastle for 49 games so far and led them to a promising win-loss-draw record of 29-11-9 in all competitions for a winning percentage of 59.18 percent.
