Newly-acquired Tianjin Teda striker Brown Ideye promised a "harvest of goals" for his new fans in China as he waits for his opportunity to play in the 2017 Chinese Super League season.
The 28-year-old Nigeria international was signed by the Tianjin Tigers last month, a month after compatriot and former Chelsea standout John Obi Mikel joined the club. Ideye was bought from Superleague Greece champions Olympiacos FC for a reported transfer fee of $12.6 million.

Ideye scored 15 goals in a total of 30 appearances in all competitions for the Red-Whites last season. Overall, he had 28 goals in 65 games in all competitions during his two-season stay at Olympiacos.
In a recent interview, the former Dynamo Kyiv and West Brom forward made a promise to Tianjin Teda fans that he will deliver a "harvest of goals" for his new squad and it will start as soon as he suits up on the pitch, Goal reported. Ideye was left out of Tianjin's opening game loss to Shandong Luneng on the road at the Jinan Olympic Sports Center Stadium last Saturday.
In a recent Instagram post, Ideye said "It's all coming back #training #believe #thankful," which sparked a lot of positive reactions from the Teda faithful.
The report noted that Tigers head coach Jaime Pacheco could finally play Ideye on Friday against powerhouse team Jiangsu Suning in another road game for the squad at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center.
Meanwhile, the Daily Trust indicated that Ideye's transfer to Tianjin is a favorable move for Obi Mikel. The two players' Super Eagles teammate, Kenneth Omeruo, a Turkey-based footballer, affirmed the move saying that "boredom will not be an issue for Mikel" now that Ideye is around.
"I wish to congratulate Brown Ideye on his recent move, more blessings and at least now John Obi Mikel will not be bored," said Omeruo.
Tianjin has been struggling for goals even with Mikel on board as the team is still winless in five matches this year, including the friendlies. Ideye is expected to put a stop to their goalscoring issues once he officially suits up for the club.
