A Mortal Kombat X leak shows an image of a unique controller and way of fighting on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The game may still be far away from its launch but a retail expo already showcased a customized controller for the next-gen consoles.

GameSpot saw the customized controller for the game marked Mortal Kombat X stamped on it. The controller's unique because rather than a D-pad, it has six face buttons on the right side.

This is said to be the official wired fight pad for the PS4 and Xbox One.

IGN mentioned that Performance Designed Products is producing the fight pads, taking away from old ones available for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Currently, the Mortal Kombat X fight pads for the PS4 and Xbox One are pending approval from Warner Bros. The company has only confirmed the many new characters and its "pre-order character" to expand one's Mortal Kombat X roster.

According to Cinema Blend, this pre-order allows the player to get Goro as soon as the game launches. Goro was a sub-boss on the first Mortal Kombat. Other characters teased include the parents of Cassie Cage, Johnny Cage and Sony.

According to the latest reports, the Mortal Kombat X release date is scheduled for April 14, 2015.

Mortal Kombat X was unveiled in the 2014 E3 presentation and it is already one of the most highly anticipated games for the coming year. The Mortal Kombat X release date on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC is said to offer a whole lot of new characters in addition to Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

The powers and maneuverability of these new characters are also said to be redeveloped for a more engaging gaming experience.
