Eight women from California, who were reported missing after Hurricane Odile hit Mexico while they were celebrating a bachelorette party in Cabo San Lucas on Monday, made it back home safely.

On Wednesday, relatives of the missing women confirmed that they had returned to the United States Wednesday night after they lost contact with them on Monday during the onslaught of Hurricane Odile in Mexico.

The good news was announced during an interview with NBC News, citing that the female group is safely in San Diego and are awaiting their flight home.

The party of eight went on their carefree weekend on Thursday last week from Fresno and had reportedly arrived at their hotel, the Villa Del Arco, a few hours before Odile hit the famous resort on Sunday evening.

"They didn't know how bad it was going to be, and by the time they got there, it got worse," Shaun Sumpter, husband of one of the bridesmaids, explained to NBC News.

On Tuesday, local authorities approximated two days were needed to successfully transfer over 30,000 tourists out of the area and to safety.

Electricity in a large part of the area was out as well as water and communication services, leaving the tourists from afar unable to inform their loved ones if they were safe or not.

Relatives of the other women sought help from the Mexican Consulate and have even created a Twitter account just to get word on the party's condition and whereabouts while Odile was wrecking the town of Cabo.

After the traumatic wait, relatives of the bachelorette party finally gained contact with their loved ones, breathing a sigh of relief that no one was hurt.

"I'm so happy honey- I love you more than you know," Sumpter told his wife, Crystal, expressing his frustration at how information was blacked out while his wife was trapped in Mexico.
