NBA teams Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves are set to visit China for a preseason game in October as part of the 2017 NBA Global Games China.

The clubs will play two exhibition games during the visit. The first one will be on Oct. 5 at the Shenzhen Universiade Center in Shenzhen and the next one at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on Oct. 8 in Shanghai.

The league announced the dates earlier this week aside from making the participation of the Warriors and Wolves official.

"I've never been to China, so I'm looking forward to my first visit," said Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, via ESPN. "I've heard from (Warriors players) about their trip three years ago before I was coach here. I've heard about just the craziness that exists - the incredible fan support that we will have from the Chinese NBA fans. That will be fun to experience."

The Warriors have visited China twice before, traveling to Guangzhou and Beijing in 2008 and to Beijing and Shanghai in 2013 when the team was still with head coaches Don Nelson and Mark Jackson respectively.

Meanwhile, it will be the first China visit for the Timberwolves. The team has competed out of the country in Japan, the Dominican Republic, Turkey, England, France, and Mexico in the past. They will become the 14th NBA team to be showcased in China.

"There are a lot of benefits, and the good outweighs any negative," Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau said. "The one negative is probably the travel part of it."

"When you do have the opportunity to go there, you're representing not only your team, but the NBA and our country. It's an honor and a privilege, so we're looking forward to that, and from the team-building perspective, the time that you spend together early in camp is very beneficial to the team," he added.

Meanwhile, two-time MVP Stephen Curry said that Chinese fans are "incredibly supportive" of him as he visits the country yearly since 2013, as per Sporting News. The Warriors point guard also said that he is "excited about the opportunity to return to China, enjoy the country's culture, and bring the excitement of live NBA games game directly to Chinese fans."
