China on Wednesday took a critical note of a U.S. B1 Bomber flying over the disputed East China Sea region, according to American news Channel Fox News. Although Beijing is yet to officially react to the report, but is expected to be miffed by what appears to be a show of strength by the U.S. in the disputed maritime territory.

According to Fox news, the U.S. dispatched B-1 fighter jet in response to North Korea's latest missile test, which reportedly failed. Fox news further claims that Two B-1 fighter jets were supposed to embark on the mission, but only one too off as the other fighter jet faced some maintenance issues.

The Chinese army resorted to emergency radio frequency called "guard" to send a warning message to U.S. aircrew. But the report claims that the U.S. air pilot ignored the warning and completed his flight routine without any hassles.

Meanwhile, several reports suggest that the U.S. military has confirmed the presence of B1 Bomber near the East China Sea. There are also reports that this may have been a part of the annual military drill, dubbed as the Foal Eagle, jointly carried out by the U.S. and South Korea.

Barely a month ago, China had dispatched three warships to the East China Sea in what appeared to be Beijing's show of strength against Japan and the U.S. The three Chinese warships passed through the Senkaku islands, one of the several disputed islands in the contagious maritime territory.

The timing of China's show of strength almost coincided with U.S. Defence Secretary Jim Mattis visit to Japan. During the visit, Mattis lashed out at Beijing for its growing assertiveness over the disputed maritime territory.

The East China Sea marks a bitter territorial dispute between China and Japan, which continues to mar bilateral relationship between the two Asian giants. Japan also shares tensed relationship with China over South China Sea.
