iCloud made Safer with Two-Factor Authentication

People, get ready to start trusting iCloud again as Apple's developed a new two-factor authentication. You need to remember that to stay safe.

Weeks after J-law's and other A-listers' scandalous photos were leaked on the internet, Apple provided a solution for those who doubt the security of their storage service.

Apple has announced its "two-step verification" to prevent personal files from being stolen. The verification system now requires providing a password and a verification code that will only be sent to the mobile number you've provided.

An iCloud user will be required to enter the code when signing into his account online. The code is needed every time the account is accessed from a web browser and from another device.

The iCloud features will remain locked and will only be accessible once the account is verified.

Apple once kept the system safe by limiting the number of  times that a password can be entered. Hackers, however, still found a way to get around this and into smartphones to steal photos and other data.

The new verification system will also give you a list of the devices from which you accessed your iCloud account. This includes Microsoft Outlook users.

This system was announced two days ago and for most iCloud users, the change is automatic on their accounts but is still optional.

The verification system is also available to those who use applications such as Microsoft Outlook but who want to access their iCloud accounts.

One can use the "app-specific" passwords. This means one has to go to the Apple ID website to generate passwords.

These passwords will be used when logging into a certain app. This will be available by the first of October.
