Xiaomi Launches Mi Pad 3 in China with 6600mAh Battery

Xiaomi has unveiled the Mi Pad 3, which is only available in China for now.
The Beijing-based tech company has chosen to quietly launch the new tablet. Mi Pad 3 tablet went live on Xiaomi’s Chinese website without any announcement. The company took two years to upgrade the tablet line up.

Similar to Mi Pad 2, it has the same design. But the new tablet gets a metallic unibody, measuring 200.4 x 132.6 x 7 mm and weighing 328g.
The Mi Pad 3 is powered by the new hexa core MediaTek MT8176 SoC with 2x Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.1GHz and 4x Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz. Its GPU offers PowerVR GX6250 clocked at 600MHz. It runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and topped by MIUI 8. The tablet comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage without microSD card support.
It sports a 7.9-inch retina display coupled with 2048 x 1536 screen resolution. The retina screen offers temperature adjustment and similar to iPad Pro “True Tone” feature and Night Shift respectively. For the camera, it has 13MP rear lenses with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash and its 5MP front-facing shooter has f/2.0 aperture.
Xiaomi’s new tablet provides 6600mAh battery, which comes paired with a support for 5V/2A fast charging ability. The company claims that the Mi Pad 3 can last up to 867 hours of standby time or 12 hours of browsing time/normal video playback. For connectivity, it offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi display, Wifi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and a microUSB port.
The Mi Pad 3 will be available in one color variant only, Champagne Gold. It is now available for purchase in China for CNY 1499 ($220). There is no official announcement yet about its availability internationally.
