Xiaomi TV Unveiled: a 47-inch 1080P Screen for 2999 yuan

September 5th, Xiaomi Tech held an annual press conference at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. Apart from launching Xiaomi Phone 3, the Xiaomi TV, which has been rumored for quite a while, is unveiled during the press conference. The smart TV uses a 47-inch screen with a 1080P Full HD resolution at the price of 2999 yuan ($490 USD).

In appearance, Xiaomi TV uses an aluminum faceplate with a touch screen. And there are six colors to choose from, namely, red, orange, and blue, green, purple. The appearance of Xiaomi TV is straight and angular; its thinnest part is only 2mm, while the thickest part is 4.8mm. Xiaomi TV looks stylish with its 8.4mm ultra-narrow bezel.
As for its hardware configuration, Xiaomi TV uses a 47-inch screen with a 1080P Full HD resolution. The 3D-capable screen is provided by Samsung and LG, and its material is in-cell, which is more effective in apparent transmission in order to achieve a higher brightness effect. In addition, Xiaomi TV is supported by a 1.7GHz high frequency quad-core Snapdragon 600 with 2GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, with HDMI and LAN interfaces. Besides, Xiaomi TV has the full support for Bluetooth headset/speaker/gamepad/keyboard/mouse.
As for its system, Xiaomi TV runs its company's Android-based MIUI operating system, providing users an 11-button simplest remote control, which can be used easily by users. Remarkably, Xiaomi TV also supports many other functions such as local playback, associated function, game apps and audition function.
The price for Xiaomi TV is 2999 yuan ($490 USD) at present. It will be on sale on a large scale in mid-October.
