A woman in Eastern China admitted to police of embezzling more than 2 million yuan from her employer. She used the money to buy lipstick, perfume, and clothes not to use them, but to post them on social media.
The 26-year-old has a 3-year-old child.
Police did not release the name of the woman nor her employer. When they searched her house, they found almost a thousand lipsticks, perfume, handbags, and clothes. Most of the items are unused, sealed, and even have their price tags on. The woman got 890,000 yuan last year alone.

"I just wanted to buy them when I saw beautiful pictures of lipsticks and perfumes," she told police. She posts them on her social media account to get likes.
She has been working at the company for four years. She found an accounting loophole which enabled her to take the money.
Her family said that she has been in an unusually bad mood lately, as the pressure of becoming caught dawns upon her. She used to purchase more than 10 items a day from online shopping websites.
She turned herself to police last week after realizing that she will never be able to pay back the money she took.
