Xiang later found out that his girlfriend left the bar with male friends. When he went to her apartment, he found Wang's ex, Cheng Zixin, sitting on the couch. He stabbed the ex-lover on his face, neck, and back with a fruit knife lying on the table.
Police and ambulance were called. Doctors said that Cheng has multiple injuries on his back and neck, and severe scarring on his face. Wang told prosecutors that several of her friends went home to chat, but it was only a coincidence that she was alone with Cheng when Xiang arrived.
