An interview with actor Jackie Chan in 2015 has re-surfaced online after an alleged suicide incident by his daughter with Elaine Ng, Etta Ng. In the interview, Chan admitted that he was forced to marry his wife of 35 years, Joan Lin, after he got her pregnant with son Jaycee.

The interview with Asia One two years ago showed Chan saying "it was an accident which conceived Jaycee." He noted that it never crossed his mind to settle down, but felt that it was his responsibility to marry her.
Chan further said that as a younger man, he has had many other girlfriends and that the love he used to share with Lin had vanished long ago. Chan and Lin two secretly tied the knot in an obscure coffee shop in Los Angeles, California in 1982.
Meanwhile, in 2014, Chan's son with Lin, Jaycee, made headlines after he was arrested by the police in Beijing after about 100 grams of marijuana was seized from his apartment. He served six months in prison. Soon after he was released, Jaycee found it difficult to get back to the corporate world after having been blacklisted by many corporate firms.
