India's latest blockbuster movie "Dangal," starring Indian star Amir Khan, is set to be released in China next month. Indian movies rarely get released in China, where mostly Chinese and Hollywood movies run amok. But "Dangal" will arrive in China with huge hopes, considering that Amir Khan's last release "P.K" performed well in the country.

The Chinese dubbed Dangal will first premier at the 7th Beijing International Film Festival in the non-competing panorama section, after which it will release across theaters in China. The movie depicts the trail and tribulations of two sisters - Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari - in their quest to become professional wrestlers.
Amir Khan will reportedly arrive in China to promote his movie ahead of the release. He is expected to be in China between April 16 and April 21, with Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu likely to be included in his tour itinerary.
During the promotional tour, the Bollywood superstar will share the stage with 2008 and 2012 Olympic gold medallist winner in boxing Zou Shiming. He will also meet former NBA player Stephon Marbury.
Khan is also scheduled to interact with students of Shanghai University, where he is expected to help Chinese students in getting acquainted with Indian movies. Understandably, "Dangal's" marketing team is trying to cash in on Amir Khan's popularity among Chinese movie lovers.
According to several movie critics, Khan is the most recognizable Bollywood star in China due to the success of "3 Idiots" and "P.K." If "Dangal" does hit a bull's eye, it is likely to send a message to Indian moviemakers that Bollywood movies have immense potential to do well in the lucrative Chinese market.
