Jackson Rathbone was onboard a JetBlue plane yesterday, September 18, when his plane's engine exploded mid-flight.

Accompanying him on the flight were his wife Shiela and their 2-year-old son, Monroe.

According to the actor, who is best known for playing Jasper Hale in all the "Twiight Saga" movies, they were on JetBlue flight 1416. The plane was to go from Long Beach to Austin, but the right engine caught flames.

Rathbone recounted that smoke began to fill the cabin, and the oxygen masks were not used because it failed to deploy. He praised the flight attendants for manually deploying all the oxygen masks, despite the unstable motion of the plane.

A religious man, Rathbone shared that he prayed as he held his family in his arms.

Their pilot announced over the PA that the plane's right engine was lost and that passengers should brace themselves. He said that the cabin crew then proceeded to chant, "Brace!" while the passengers held on to each other and prepared to land.

Needless to say, the famous family and the rest of the plane landed safely. The "Twilight" actor even said it was not even the rough landing they were expecting.

Jackson Rathbone shared that he could not stop kissing his family and saying thanks to the Lord when they landed. They evacuated the plane as soon as they landed on the tarmac and were instructed to go as far away as possible from the plane.

He and his family left all their things on the plane, but have no regrets doing so because they are very grateful to have been alive in spite of the accident.

Rathbone kept his fans on their toes as he documented the entire mishap on his WhoSay and Instagram account. He posted photos of he and his family moving away from the plane, worried passengers calling their loved ones, and people crowding around the airport buses in order to be moved to a safe place.
