Finding a replacement for the late Don Pardo as the voice of "Saturday Night Live" was certainly a daunting task. However, show creator Lorne Michaels is confident that they've found the right guy for the job - comedian and SNL alum, Darrell Hammond.
NBC will be made the official announcement on Thursday.

Hammond worked in SNL from 1995 to 2009, surpassing the stay of any other performer in the said comedy series. The comedian, who is one of the most talented impressionists in the show, has also quietly subbed for
Pardo previously when the late announcer couldn't make it to the taping due to health reasons.
During a show in 1999, Pardo became incapacitated to perform the introduction due to a bad case of laryngitis. Hammond immediately filled in and mimicked Pardo's voice to introduce then-host former "Dawson's Creek" star, James Vanderbeek.
Although Michaels knew that he had to replace the aging Pardo eventually, he was not looking forward to it, having employed the announcer until his death last August at the age of 96.
"There were a lot of sweet ideas about carrying on with Don somehow. Because everyone has a Pardo impression. But he had the greatest run and he's a completely beloved figure. So I thought: Don't turn this into something else. That period ended," Michaels shared.
After learning of Pardo's death, Hammond shared that he had fond memories of the announcer and, that if he were chosen to be the second regular announcer of the show, he would be "honored and thrilled".
"I'm really happy about it. I think it will be good to have Darrell doing his own separate thing," Michaels commented.
Hammond's most notable impressions are those of Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Donald Trump, John McCain, Regis Philbin, Dick Cheney, Chris Matthews, Phil Donahue,Phil McGraw, Ted Koppel, John Travolta, Jesse Jackson, Geraldo Rivera, and Sean Connery.
He is also a film actor, starring in movies such as "Agent Cody Banks" and "Epic Movie".
