Bungie's Destiny shooter game is gaining huge streaming records, as well.
Game publisher Activision announced on Thursday that during the first week launch of Destiny, more people watched game streams on Twitch than any other console game released so far in 2014.
"To date, Destiny is the biggest console game launch of the year on Twitch. Our passionate community of broadcasters attracted more than 5 million unique viewers in the first week," said Matthew DiPietro, Twitch marketing executive.

All content related to Destiny gained a huge 20 million views on Twitch on its first week launch. The game fans watched almost 240 million minutes of gameplay during that time.
David Dague, Bungie community manager, said that knowing Destiny players broadcast their experiences live on Twitch is a more amazing experience.
Destiny launched last September 9 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Over the course of five days in the market, Destiny posted revenues of US$325 million.
In comparison, Grand Theft Auto V released in 2013 gained US$800 million on its first day and US$1 billion in three days. GTA has been around since the 1990s and Destiny is just a new game, thus the disparities in sales.
Activision said the release of Destiny last week displayed the "biggest new video game franchise launch in history."
Meanwhile, Ubisoft in May launched the open-world game Watch Dogs which also gained pretty good revenue.
