The residents of Bell, Florida appeared to have known of the unsettling and heartrending lives of the family members who passed away on Thursday.

Don Spirit, 51, reportedly fatally shot his own daughter and six grandchildren. He then shot himself in an apparent suicide. According to police records, Spirit had been imprisoned years ago when his son died after a hunting trip. Reports show that Spirit accidentally shot his son when he pointed out a rust in his firearm's nozzle and it fired. Although it had been an accident, Spirit was sentenced to roughly three years in prison since he was not allowed to carry a firearm due to a previous conviction involving illegal possession of marijuana.

His daughter, Sarah Lorraine Spirit, was said to be on probation at the time of her death. Gilchrist County records show that police arrested Sara on August 26 due to a violation of her probation. No information was disclosed regarding her release date. In addition, authorities revealed that the two men identified as the fathers of her slain kids are detained in prison.

Responding officers described that the bodies of Sarah and her children were discovered "all over the property". The children were Kaleb Kuhlmann, 11, Kylie Kuhlmann, 9, Johnathon Kuhlmann, 8, Destiny Stewart, 5, Brandon Stewart, 4, and Alanna Stewart, who was born in June.

Authorities had been alerted on Thursday afternoon by a 911 call from the 51-year-old grandfather, who reportedly declared that he was seriously contemplating harming himself and his family. Upon arriving at the family home, responding officers found the slain children, their mother, and their grandfather dead from gunshot wounds.

During the local high school football game on Friday, hundreds of those who attended wore white to honor the victims of the tragic incident. One of Sarah's high school classmate, 27-year-old Danielle Barry, claimed to have gotten off work early to be able to change into a white shirt and show her support for the family.

"I got off work early to at least wear the white shirt and support everyone the best I could," Barry shared. "Never live for tomorrow because tomorrow isn't promised," she added. Barry described the slain mother as "a really good girl" and someone who "had a lot of potential".

In a Facebook message sent by Kasey Hart, one of Sarah's friends, to the Associated Press, she described the victim as fun loving and dedicated mother. "Her poor mother has lost her youngest son, oldest daughter and all her grandkids to her ex-husband," Hart shared.
