The search for the missing Texas deputy has finally concluded as she was found dead on Friday in Lake Austin after being swept away by flood water early Thursday.
The lifeless body of the 35-year-old Travis County Senior Deputy Sheriff Jessica Hollis, a seven-year veteran in the department, was found in Lake Austin a day after she radioed that her car was being swept away at a low-water crossing near an Austin subdivision on Thursday.

During his announcement of the find, Hollis' boss Travis County Sheriff Greg Hamilton became emotional, declaring that the demised deputy has "touched lives across the agency."
Meanwhile, Travis County Sheriffs' Law Enforcement Association President and Senior Deputy Brett Spicer remembered Hollis as a highly regarded professional law enforcement officer citing that she had given her life to keep the people of Austin safe.
"The people should know that she gave her life - she was out that night patrolling our streets in Travis County - to keep people safe. She gave her life protecting others," he said.
After the search has been concluded, Spicer vowed to devote the association's resources to support Hollis' grieving family, especially her 12-year-old son and her husband who is also a law enforcement officer in Austin.
Hollis was out on Thursday at nearly 2 a.m. to check on low-water crossings when the incident happened.
A few minutes before communication with her was cut off, she was able to report that her car was being swept away by water near Colorado River.
The car was found shortly after the report but the sheriff's deputy was nowhere to be seen.
After determining that she is indeed missing, the Travis County Sheriff's Office immediately launched a search party to look for her but was impeded by the raging storm brought about by tail ends of Hurricane Odile.
When the search was resumed early Friday, divers were called on scene as they found Hollis' body floating in Lake Austin.
