Bell's Palsy is a kind of disease that causes facial paralysis due to damage on the cranial nerve which later results to a patient's inability to control facial muscles on both sides or either one side of the face.

The actress says that she is unable to control the right side of her face and is also unable to blink. Koon shared that she believes that her sickness is caused by bacterial infection from a fever she has suffered from prior to her diagnosis.

Koon shed tears as she explained about her condition. The 35-year old, Tahitian-born actress said that her face has swollen due to high doses of steroids she had to take for the paralysis.

The actress also stated that her doctor told her to get enough rest, adding that Bell's Palsy patients usually get better after a month, but usually takes a duration of three to six months of full recovery through therapy and medication.

"If I'm lucky, it will be better in a couple of weeks," says Koon tearfully as she spoke to the media.

Despite her condition, Koon still found it in her to make the atmosphere lighter by joking that her voice has improved after she started taking steroids.

According to media reports, the 'Shopaholics' star is currently taking a break from all of her current activities, including performances and promotions. Koon is said to have lost approximately six figures in compensation due to her health problems.
