Hong Kong actresses Aimee Chan and Gigi Leung have announced that they're both in the first trimester of their pregnancy.

The two mothers-to-be made the announcement at the launch of a jewelry brand where they congratulated each other for the good news.

Aimee Chan just gave birth to her first son, Aiden Joshua, last December and has been on hiatus from her work since the early stages of her pregnancy. Earlier this year, the actress was offered a role in the TVB drama "Cheung Po Tsai" but she declined for family reasons.

With news of her second pregnancy, the actress is expected to further extend her maternity leave.

Chan was radiant as she shared the news to the media, saying that she is excited to have another child. The soon-to-be mother of two says she always wished her children would be born close to one another so they can get along well as friends.

The actress doesn't have any preference as to the gender of her coming child, but said it would be alright if she had two boys.

Chan announced that she will be coming back to work after her second child is born.

As opposed to previous rumors that Moses Chan, her husband, did not want her to pursue her career, she said he had been very supportive of her decisions.

On the other hand, Gigi Leung, who is finally starting a family after three years of marriage, was ecstatic when she found out that she was pregnant.

Leung revealed that she and her husband have been trying to conceive, but they haven't been successful until now. The actress said they had thought of giving up as she was already 38 years old, but her husband told her to relax and go on a vacation.

After returning from their trip, Leung discovered that she was pregnant.

"I am very thankful," said the actress, adding that she and her husband are excited to be parents.
