The Eagles' Chris Polk, on the other hand, made a 102 yard kick return, putting the Eagles on the board. This was the first time for an Eagle at the Lincoln Financial field.

In the second, a field goal by the Redskins increased their lead to as much as 10 points, 17-7.

The Eagles were not unnerved, as what also happened in their previous games.

Jordan Matthews, the second round draft pick who replaced DeSean Jackson, stepped up for the Eagles.

A play-action pass found Matthews in the back of the end zone for an 11 yard touchdown. Foles threw another over two defenders to find Matthews again and gain a significant league by the half.

However, Jackson was showing his old fans what he had been doing with his new team, catching a touchdown pass on a fly pattern and equalizing the scores, 27-27.

In the fourth though, Foles threw an interception and was blindsided by nose tackle Chris Baker.

A brawl ensured, with Baker and Eagles left tackle Jason Peters getting ejected from the game. The interception was also reviewed and later overturned.

The Eagles did more than the Redskins though, with a touchdown and field goal in the fourth quarter to come away with the victory.

The Eagles have become the first NFL team to start a season with three wins and no losses after trailing for 10 points in each game.

In their three previous games, they had scored 101 points in total.
