Amidst the release of her new album entitled JHUD, Oscar winner and singer Jennifer Hudson shared that she wants to be known as "this real girl" rather than just the performer they see onscreen or onstage.
The 33-year old actress and singer shared that she loves sitting on a park bench and watching the world go by. She's just like any other normal girl, which is very apparent from the themes of the songs in her new album.

JHUD features collaborations between Hudson and other artists such as Pharrell Williams, R. Kelly and Timbaland.
However, aside from her everyday side, she also shared that the "Jennifer Hudson persona" presented to the public is also a big part of who she is. The said persona is seen as "so heavy or emotional or strong" since most of the work and projects given to her have been associated with a certain level of strength and intensity.
Some of her most notable works include finishing seventh on the third season of the intense singing reality show "American Idol", "Dreamgirls" which won for her a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award and being an inspirational spokeswoman for Weight Watchers.
Among Hudson's current pursuits is her much-loved role as a mother. She has a 5-year old son named David with professional wrestler David Otunga.
She said that watching her son grow up is amazing and, that seeing that he has inherited her love for music has been heartwarming to learn. "He has a good ear. And he's a little performer," Hudson shared.
Music producer Clive Davis shared that Hudson has stated her interest to possibly play Aretha Franklin on film in the future. Noting that Franklin is also a great admirer of Hudson, he stated,"Jennifer has the acting chops and the vocal ability to do Aretha justice."
Hudson stated that she is optimistic that a concert tour is in her near future, citing her late mother's words as she announced the news, saying "[she] used to tell me, 'You find the positive in everything.' And that's what I'm trying to teach my son: to make the best of every situation in life."
