It is known that in the recycling program of China Telecom, current consumers could score up to 1200 yuan if they trade an old iPhone 4 for a new iPhone 5. While if the consumers trade an old iPhone 4S for a new iPhone 5, they may gain up to 2300 yuan.
Last week, Apple just confirmed its iPhone trade-in program. According to the latest program, the current iPhone owners can trade in their old devices, and then they will get a gift card based on their phone's condition. The gift card can only be used to purchase a new iPhone or other Apple products. The official title for the iPhone trade-in program is called "Apple recycling program" on Apple's official website. Every retail store in the United States will take part in the program. Customers can trade in their iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, or iPhone 5.
It is noteworthy that China isn't among the countries that take part in the "Apple recycling program".
According to Apple's rules, if a customer wants to take part in the recycling program, the customer must purchase a new iPhone and trade in his or her older device at the same time. Besides, the new iPhone must be activated under contract.
The average recycling price for an iPhone 5 16GB model will be between 250 and 253 USD. While the recycling price for a WCDMA version iPhone4 8GB model will be between 120 and 140 USD. And the recycling price for a CDMA version will be 80 USD.
