More than 300,000 demonstrators paraded in the streets of New York City on Sunday for the People's Climate March.
Hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world joined the march ahead of the United Nations Climate Summit on Tuesday.
The summit will be attended by over 120 leaders from around the world to talk about a new climate treaty, which is expected to be finalized by the end of 2015.

According to PeoplesClimate.org, the march was the "largest climate mobilization in history," which was attended by people from more than 160 countries.
Ricken Patel, head of Avaaz, the group that organized the demonstration, said the number of people who participated has been more than what they anticipated.
Aside from the marchers in New York City, more than 40,000 people also participated in London, while 10,000 demonstrators gathered in Melbourne, Australia.
Meanwhile, in France, demonstrators carried signs saying, "Alone we go faster, together we go farther!" and "We only have one planet."
Some New York activists told news sources that unless people around the globe start becoming actively concerned about the plight of our planet, the world we live in could soon be destroyed.
In a statement addressed to the marchers, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said New York has first-hand experience when it comes to catastrophes brought about by climate change, and urged people to take part in the demonstration.
Additionally, he implored New Yorkers to learn more about what steps to take in order to protect and preserve the environment.
The New York march, which is the biggest held protest regarding climate change, was joined by different prominent personalities, including former United States vice-president Al Gore, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, several elected officials and actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
New York will be having different events throughout the week in order to raise people's awareness regarding the climate initiatives that the state will be implementing.
