Louisiana Representative Vance McAllister is taking a shot at being re-elected by releasing a new TV ad that features his wife Kelly a few months after his cheating scandal erupted.
McAllister, who was branded as the "Kissing Congressman," is now making his marriage the center of his re-election campaign through the ad released on Monday, according to the Daily World.

The 30-second video shows the embattled politician describing Kelly as a "wonderful, Christian wife,." His wife, on the other hand, says she is blessed to have a husband who knows how to "own up" to his wrongdoings.
"Life is filled with ups and downs," McAllister says in the ad, then his wife continues, "But a man's character is based on how many times he gets back up and stands again."
In April, a security video was leaked showing McAllister locking lips with a married staffer who resigned after the scandal erupted. The cheating controversy messed up his chances of getting re-elected, the report said.
Although Republicans urged McAllister to step down from office, he refused to do so. He now faces eight rivals in the upcoming November elections despite the absence of support from his party.
McAllister's previous supporters, including Democrat Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo and the "Duck Dynasty" stars, have ditched him. The former is now running against McAllister while the latter have switched their support to a relative, Zach Dasher.
Because of the lack of outside funding, McAllister had to use his own money for his campaign, the report added.
McAllister explained that he is running again because Kelly encouraged him to do so, saying she wanted him to "continue to fight." She wanted to show the people how strong they are together and that they are moving forward from the rocky phase in their marriage, the congressman said.
