The National Day Golden Week witnesses a tourism peak every year. According to the latest reports, influenced by the newly implemented "Tourism Law", the prices of tours during the "Golden Week" surged, which made a great number of citizens turn to the independent tour. The outbound independent tour, a dark horse in the tourism market, becomes favored by citizens this year.

"I have been paying attention to the tourism for a long time. However, the prices of tours during the National Day Golden Week surged too much. My friend spent less than RMB 4,000 Yuan on his trip to Thailand. The price rises to RMB 7,000 Yuan this year. It would be more independent if I book flight tickets and hotels myself," said Mr. Liu during an interview over his travel plan during the "Golden Week".

According to the data on travel website 17U.cn, bookings of independent tours during the "Golden Week" doubled from last year. Nearly 40% of citizens chose to book independent tours after reviewing and comparing the different prices of package tours and independent tours. A representative of 17U.cn revealed that, the prices of package tours to Southeast Asia surged most and nearly 30% customers turned to independent tours to Southeast Asia. In addition, independent tours to South Korea and Europe are also favored by citizens.

It is learned that the prices of outbound independent tours during the "Golden Week" range from RMB 3,000 Yuan to RMB 10,000 Yuan. For example, "4-day Independent Trip to Seoul" costs around RMB 3,200 Yuan. "5-day & 4-night Independent Trip to Boracay" costs over RMB 4,000 Yuan. "10-day & 8-night Trip to Greece" costs around RMB 14,000 Yuan.

According to industry analysis, with the implementation of "Tourism Law" during the National Day Golden Week", independent tours will be more favored, while booked package tours are expected to decrease to a certain degree during the "Golden Week" this year.
